Traders Point Christian Church - Church Tour 1
| The dream of a new Traders Point Christian Church in metropolitan Indianapolis began fifteen years ago when Traders Point members embarked upon their property search. They had major difficulty finding an appropriate piece of land, but when they finally did, they broke ground and opened their doors about a year later. Their facility, in Whitestown, Indiana, was completed in 2007. |
|
| With a membership of 1,700 and weekly attendance of 2,000, Traders Point was intent on designing a church that provided ample space for all age groups: young children, elementary school children, middle/high school children, and adults. The new worship center, built on a 90-acre site, includes an impressive 2,600 seat auditorium (the largest auditorium in Indiana); a 10,800 SF multi-purpose gymnasium with adjoining locker rooms, kitchen, and fellowship hall; a 7,500 SF youth center; a 7,500 SF office space; and a nursery. Additionally, the church has its own school that occupies ten acres of the site. |
|
Traders Point uses state-of-the-art technology and has an impressive audio/visual/lighting system which includes: 2600x image magnification, a HPV Mad Speaker system, over 25 Yamaha amplifiers, 192 Channels of ETC Sensor Dimming, Sanyo projection, and 6 DaLite Perm Wall rear projection screens. With the help of their Director of Technical Ministries and other volunteers, Traders Point was able to purchase and install high-end audiovisual technology for a significantly lower cost than if they had outsourced the process.

Grace Community Church - Church Tour 2
| Grace Community Church, in Noblesville, Indiana moved into their old facility twelve years ago, but an unanticipated surge in growth caused them to outgrow the space within a short period of time. To accommodate their growing attendance, currently up to 5,500 on a weekend, they began their expansion project in March 2006 and completed phase one of the project in August 2007. On this tour, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at phase two just two months shy of completion and see how Grace Community has doubled the size of it's facility to 200,000 SF!
|
The first phase of the expansion included the addition of eight identical 200-seat auditoriums for kids worship (with worship spaces and classrooms for each age range) and two large gathering spaces for students. These auditoriums were designed specifically for their own worship by age group. Each age group also has its own small group/activity room.
The second phase of the project includes a brand new 1,650-seat auditorium with a ground-level stage surrounded by 270-degrees of seating. It also includes space for audio recording/editing, video recording/editing, repairing equipment, and storage. Two existing auditoriums accompany the new main auditorium, allowing three different worship experiences to run simultaneously. The original design for a 4,000-seat auditorium was passed up in order to maintain intimacy within the worship spaces. Future plans are to add one additional worship space.
Grace Community takes pride in its audio/visual system in the new auditorium that is both state-of-the-art and easy for volunteers to operate. They have upgraded to full high-definition video (across nine screens), a Vortek rigging system, Meyer Constellation VRAS system, and Crestron automation. In addition to the audio/visual installation, every aspect of the new construction project was designed with the acoustics in mind. Please note that, due to the timing of the tour, all audio/visual systems may not yet be fully functioning.
| The total cost of the project is $28M, 100% of which has been pledged by Grace Community members, resulting in an expansion project that will be completed without ANY debt! |
