Hands-On Trainings

WFX Fall 2008 will take place in Houston, TX from November 5 - 7, 2008. Check back in July for details! Below are Hands-on Training class details from WFX Spring 2008.

WFX Spring 2008 welcomes full conference attendees to participate in our unique hands-on training classes. With sessions specific to audio, video and lighting technologies, you'll have an incredibly valuable experience to bring home to your church.

This year, classes will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Space is limited to ensure an intimate learning environment. The same classes will be offered multiple times in order to accommodate as many people as possible.

Please Note: You must be a registered full conference attendee to sign up for these training sessions.

Hands-On Audio Training

The Hands-on Audio Mix classes will walk attendees through the ins-and-outs of an audio mixing console. Attendees will learn tips and techniques to help them better understand digital consoles using a live multi-track DVD to create their own mixes. With state-of-the-art equipment donations from Yamaha, you won't want to miss this unique opportunity to experience all you need to know about audio mixing!

Four fundamentals and two advanced techniques sessions will be taught.

Hands-On Video Training

If you are interested in creating compelling videos and building motion graphics to polish and give professionalism to your videos, this may be just the class for you. Choose one of the four classes below to get up close and personal with Apple equipment in a class taught by Apple and Duncan Video or Apple and Renewed Vision. Don't miss this intensive and exciting hands-on learning experience!

Apple/Duncan Video: Intro to Final Cut Pro 6

Apple/Duncan Video: Intro to Motion 3 and Color

Discover how to quickly add depth and realism to your motion graphics for video and film. Apply filters and motion effects to video using graphics and particles — all in 3D, all in real time. Introducing Color. Learn how color, like sound and music, is a critical “character” in your video productions. Hands-On Lighting Training

Taught by Greg Persinger, Vivid Illumination

A discussion of industry standard theatrical lighting fixtures, will be sure to en"light"en you at WFX. This session will include fixture uses, tips and techniques, and basic maintenance. As each fixture is presented, participants will get a chance to experiment with and ask questions about each fixture. If you have ever wondered what the difference is between the different fixture types hanging in the ceiling, this seminar is for you.
