WFX Dallas 2011 Draws 3,610 Members of the House of Worship Market and 1,000 Online Viewers
FRAMINGHAM, MA – November 18, 2011 – Worship Facilities Conference & Expo (WFX) announced WFX Dallas 2011, which took place November 8-11 at the Dallas Convention Center, drew 3,610 members of the house of worship community and an additional 1,000 online viewers who watched streaming conference sessions and presentations on WFX Live.
Presented by Church Production and Worship Facilities Magazines and EH Events in conjunction with The American Institute of Architects Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture Knowledge Community, and sponsored by Christianity Today International and the National Council of Acoustical Consultants, WFX brings together thousands of church and industry leaders and hundreds of exhibitors from around the world to guide facilities and technology investments and opportunities for houses of worship.
WFX Dallas 2011 offered an expanded Conference Program with over 50 conference sessions across six tracks (Audio/Video/Lighting, Design, Facilities Management, Leadership & Management, Social Media & Communication, IFRAA) and a sold-out lineup of more than 50 Hands-On Training sessions, including all-new advanced-level courses.
- WFX Dallas 2011 kicked off on Tuesday, November 8 with a standing room-only Tech Leaders Retreat. Nearly 200 tech leaders from around the country participated in half-day networking and idea-sharing retreats, sponsored by Church Technical Leaders
- WFX offered two dynamic keynote presentations to all attendees, exhibitors, and presenters. On Wednesday, November 9, Greg Surratt, Founding Pastor of Seacoast Church, delivered, “How Did Jesus Build the Church without an iPad: Communicating the Gospel in a Social Media World.” The following morning, Jud Wilhite, Senior Pastor of Central Christian Church, presented the inspirational, “Reach Out to the Broken.”
- The Pastors Experience provided pastors with dedicated, intimate time to engage with WFX Keynote Presenters Surratt and Wilhite, during two Pastors Luncheons on November 9 and 10.
- Back by popular demand, WFX Live streamed live video broadcasts of keynote presentations and conference sessions online at wfxweb.com/live. WFX Live conference sessions took place at the WFX Live Studio, a fully functioning studio on the Expo Floor. These online sessions were watched by 1,000 viewers from over 76 countries.
- New for 2011, WFX address the rapidly increasing use of social media in the church with the Social Media & Communication Hub on the Expo Floor, sponsored by the Center for Church Communication. Attendees engaged in casual discussions on using social media to spread their message with members of the CFCC.
- WFX also debuted its first Spanish-language conference sessions, focused on Audio/Video/Lighting. WFX will offer an expanded lineup of Spanish-language education in 2012.
- Two exclusive, behind-the-scenes church tours dynamic Dallas-area churches – Gateway Church and Watermark Community Church – gave attendees a unique look into how these successful churches make things work. Over $10,000 were raised and donated to the participating churches.
- Attendees, speakers, and exhibitors alike packed an uplifting worship concert by the Drew Bodine Band. The concert, which took place on Wednesday, November 10, was sponsored by A.E. Global Media, Inc.
WFX will return to Atlanta for WFX Atlanta 2012, September 19-21. Registration is open for WFX Atlanta 2012 online and super early bird discounts are available when you register before December 2, 2011.
New for 2012, WFX will also debut the UNITE Conference, designed specifically for church teams to transform their worship. UNITE will be held September 19-21 in Atlanta, Georgia in conjunction with WFX.
